Laws Title
Stonehenge Line

These by-laws are meant as suggestions on conduct in relation to the Clan. They are not meant to change your personal beliefs, or to challenge your spirituality in any way. What is done in private, away from the group, is not at issue here.

Stonehenge Line

  1. We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting through polarity - as masculine and feminine - and that this same Creative Power lies in all people, and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing each to be supportive to the other. We are of the Old Ways, among those who walk with the Goddesses and Gods and receive their love. We see religion, magick, and wisdom in living as being united on the way one views the world and lives within it

  2. We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the moon and the seasonal Quarters and Cross-Quarters. Acknowledge and give due reverence to your god/desses, observing all the sacred times and festivals. Keep these rites to the best of your abilities, for to do otherwise is to lessen your connection with the Universe and the Natural world.

  3. We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary it is sometimes called supernatural, but we see it as lying within that which is naturally accessible to all. This power should not be used to bring harm, to injure or control others. But if the need arises, it may be used to protect your life and the lives of others. The Power may be used for your own gain, as long as by doing so you harm none. Use it not for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of magick. Be wary of accepting money for use of the Power, for it can control the taker. Ever remember that the Power is the sacred gift of the Gods and should never be misused or abused.

  4. As members of this Clan, our word must have the validity of a signed and witnessed oath. Thus give your promises sparingly, and adhere to them like iron.

  5. Teach only what you know, to the best of your ability, to those students who you choose, but avoid teaching to those who would use your instructions for destruction or control. Also, do not teach to boost pride, forever remember: S/he who teaches out of love shall be enfolded in the arms of the God/dess. Those who seek the mysteries should consider themselves select of the God/desses, for it is they who are leading the human race to the highest levels of spirituality. Help others according to their need and according to your ability to give of yourself. Belittle no one's beliefs, but simply offer what it is you believe to be true. Teachers are the servants of the Gods. Their duty is to plant the seeds of knowledge within the minds of their students and they shall use their power for the good of the Clan. Yet, it is each student's duty to tend the seeds which are planted, and to make the final harvest. Those who misuse the power and trust of the teacher's position shall have to answer to the Lords of Karma, and adjust the balance accordingly.

  6. Animal sacrifices are unnecessary, do not kill anything, except when food or protection are required and then do so with respect and reverence. If your offerings are made to restore the balance, they must be of a nature that is not offensive to the Gods. They must be of value, yet given with a free heart. Thus shall the harmony be restored. If your offerings are given with a heart filled with love and devotion or are of service to the Gods, or to the Craft, then shall you receive blessings manifold.

  7. We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with Nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment to life and consciousness within an evolutionary concept. Those of our ways are kind to all creatures, we believe that we should seek within Nature that which is contributory to our health and well-being.

  8. We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.

  9. Be true to your own understanding and strive to turn away from what is opposed within you. This is within your power, so harm not. If no one is harmed by your action (either physically, emotionally, or spiritually) including yourself, then do as you Will to do in Life, in accordance with your Higher Self. Seek your own identity and purpose.

  10. Strive to live in peace with those who differ with you. If disputes arise within the Clan a discussion will be announced, both parties will be allowed to give their sides, and the dispute will be settled with a vote by the charter members. The Circle cannot be properly formed where there is disagreement and discord. Bear no grudges, hold no thoughts of vengeance, for this will rot away the foundation of your power.

  11. When we meet with those who would inquire as to the ways of the Clan, or who wish to become a member of our Circle, we shall search their hearts, and even their spirits as we are able. We do not seek to enlarge the group by mere numbers, but those whose hearts are true and whose desires are earnest will not be turned away.

  12. Those who wish to join our Clan will be required to spend a period of 30 days as a trial membership during which they should post to the list as often as necessary to introduce themselves and let the others get to know them. After such time, a decision will be made by the Charter Members as to whether the newcomer will be allowed to join as a full member.
